The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea In a beautiful pea green boat, They took some honey, and plenty of money, Wrapped up in a five pound note. The Owl looked up to the stars above, And sang to a small guitar, ‘O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love, What a beautiful Pussy you are, You are, You are! What a beautiful Pussy you are!’
II
Pussy said to the Owl, ‘You elegant fowl! How charmingly sweet you sing! O let us be married! too long we have tarried: But what shall we do for a ring?’ They sailed away, for a year and a day, To the land where the Bong-tree grows And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood With a ring at the end of his nose, His nose, His nose, With a ring at the end of his nose.
III
‘Dear pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling Your ring?’ Said the Piggy, ‘I will.’ So they took it away, and were married next day By the Turkey who lives on the hill. They dined on mince, and slices of quince, Which they ate with a runcible spoon; And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand, They danced by the light of the moon, The moon, The moon, They danced by the light of the moon.
He’s cool, he’s British and he’s the same age as me… damn, hah. Seriously ace posters and re-imaginings of posters, as well as some original artwork (graphic design and illustration). Clever stuff.
‘Out of this World: Science Fiction but not as you know it’ is an exhibition being held at the British Library from 20th May 2011 (free, seven days a week). It explores a range of objects and ideas associated with Science Fiction (literature, film, television, artwork, music etc etc etc…) and also sees how Science Fiction may have ultimately led to some Science Fact.
I don’t know how many people read this or how many of you actually notice what I blather on about but PLEASE take notice of this.
My friend’s Mum has gone missing. Anyone in the West Midlands or Somerset area who’s able to help, please contact the Avon and Somerset Constabulary (0845 456 7000).
Suddenly I keep seeing an advert for a Yorkshire-based broadband company everywhere. No idea what their name is (bad advertising?) but this song is mentioned and it’s been in my head ever since.
Oh dear, another ‘different’ website to buy ‘different’ things… there goes the rest of my money. Like Etsy, Folksy is a forum where members can upload their own handmade items to sell to other members. Payment works a bit like eBay (as in you reserve the item and pay later, then leave feedback - again, rather dangerous). It’s the kind of website you can’t leave. Admittedly this isn’t for everyone but I love the idea of owning something that nobody else can have (e.g. just bought some earrings, only two sets existed AND of course being handmade they won’t be exactly the same anyway). Plus you get to support the little people making their way into the fashion world. Nice, innit.
